Billet football with a tennis ball. Ball is halfway across the road.
Another billet sport, bicycle polo.You line up at the ends of the billet and at the whistle, charge for the ball and try to score goals at the opposite end. Here, my front wheel has just been caved in by Miller.You can just see it starting to bend.
It`s Christmas. Smudger Smith well on the way to being plastered. He staggered through the "snowdrops" billet next threatening them with a fire extinguisher he had picked up.
Nobody moved!
Pud Spalding also enjoying Christmas. He definitely was carrying more beer in his belly than in his arms.

These two photographs portray our billet settling down for the night even to the extent of making your bed up before you can get to sleep ! Where beds are missing, this signifies that some beds are still being used outside under the verandah in order to keep cool in the summer.
Celebrating his 21st. Roy Whistance hosted a great party in the YMCA to mark his coming of age.

Billet photoshoot... Christmas day 1954. I was home on a month`s leave in UK. I got a free ride home but had to pay £50 to get back ! My mucker Smudger is reading his mail.

Whistance and me. He had just been made up to corporal and so qualified for his own special room at the end of the billet complete with naf curtains ! Of course, we did not have curtains ourselves. (added May 13/08)
