Taking the salute at the annual AOC`s parade. Not on the parade ground but on the athletics track. Could that be the golf clubhouse in the distance ?
The YMCA verandah.
Who can remember these two stationed at Kasfareet.
The RAF MEAF Danceband playing at the camp cinema. Saw some decent shows there including Harry Secombe, Ruby Murray and the Ivy Benson Ladies Showband.
Mr Thompson at work. He also owned the general store and lived next door in Casa Packin
Me taking a running dive into the Great Bitter Lake. We had a nice lido only half a mile from camp, a nice leasurely stroll over the bridge over the Sweetwater canal (10 jabs if you fell in) through Kasfareet village then a straight road down to the Canal Road. Used to buy melons there for two ackers (a tanner)
Enjoying the sunshine down at the camp Lido beside the Great Bitter Lake.

Two more dayguard pictures. Looking through the fence and looking through a gantry ladder, possibly to one of the searchlights. (added May 13/08)
View of sunset from top of the Air Traffic Control Tower whilst settling down for night guard ( Tower situated outside of the camp fence).
Another view from the tower looking back into the perimeter fence.
Our officer i/c Prov 3 Flt/Lt Don Blew and his wife Mina with elder daughter Jane and baby Mandy. I often used to baby sit for them. Gave me a rest from camp life.
On dayguard.
I just cannot recall this guy. Can anybody help ?
Don`t know who they were but a cycle race entered the camp, rotated and went out again ! At one time when I was down by the Kasfareet Lido, the Tour de l`Egypt went past with lots of riders and many support vehicles.
Circling the roundabout
And away they go.
5 NEW PICTURES- Of day guard on the railway side of camp. First shot is looking south down the railway toward Suez. In the foreground is the storm ditch where it enters the camp. The subsequent shots move left to right towards El Hamra closing with a shot of a train heading up towards Fayid.
Was this Kasfareet station ?
Looks like start of El Hamra.
Looking towards the main gate.
Ollerton ?
NEW PICTURE-Where did I take this ? Is it topside of the Officers Mess ?
NEW PICTURE-Where is this on Kasfareet. There is a white ship on the lake. Would it be top end of the camp looking into Fanara ?
