Our Cycling Club
Because RAF Kasfareet was so large, it was essential to inherit a bike when someone was being returned home for demob. We used to like going off camp for long rides but as the machines were so old, constant stops were necessary to carry out running repairs.
This was on a trip south down the treaty road.Norris left, me centre and Bonzo right.

Another breakdown. Might have been better to catch the bus.
This was a ride up past the top of the Great Bitter Lake on the Canal Road. Stopped here for a rest. Dave on the right.
Smudger Smith here gets stuck into a can of peaches at our picnic beside the canal.
The canal was pretty quiet
That is until the troopship Devonshire steamed up from the south. I think they were squaddies heading home from Korea. Boy, did we get some verbal and mickey from them all !
