A cruise down the Nile
The cruise started at the Nile Barrage pictured here. All colour tinting done by the future Mrs York.
This is a view looking along the length of the Barrage

and then almost face on - below.
Me on the Barrage with a chico
No, they are not building another pyramid, only pulling a boat through the Barrage.
Alongside the Barrage was an absolutely beautiful park and most magnificently maintained. These three pictures cannot do true justice to the real thing. We had a nice stroll while we awaited the Nile cruise.
Hand Colour tinting again by Sheila.
Tea for two !

Brought to you anywhere in the park.
The Cruise boat. We sailed upstream toward Cairo complete with cabaret comprising an African witchdoctor who danced and drummed and a belly dancer and we even had an on ship bar ! All in all, a lovely day out.

The teams take to the field.Note the armed guards and the barbed wire ! If you could not see then you just picked up your chair and moved it !
Game on, but I forget the final score. There was some fighting on the terraces and several fires were started. To mark the recent death of Mahmoud Badr El-Din, Secretary/ General of the Egypt FA, the game kicked off as normal then after two minutes the ref whistled and all the players stopped in their tracks for a minutes silence. Then the ref blew his whistle again and they all chased after the dead ball !
