Harry made contact with me via Ray Penney on July 13th 2007...........He commented

I was in all the places and times that you were in and run parallel to eg Cardington, West Kirby, flew out to Egypt from Stanstead on York, stopping over at Malta, the first intro to the heat ( which felt suffocating, I wondered, when we got off the plane in the early hours of the morning, how can I breathe here, there was no fresh air, it was stifling. You included a picture in West Kirby of a chap who was stationed out there with us John ( Dusty ) Miller from London. I have a few photo`s of him also John (Smudger ) Smith an old friend, and a name I hav`nt heard in 53 years, Pud Spalding, a most likeable chap always a happy smiling face.

Exact dates were, I went to West Kirby at the beginning of May 1953 ( I was 18 on the 4th ) and I went to Egypt in August 1953, I spent 2 years there then was posted to Cyprus September 1955 where I finished my 3 years ( that was a glorious posting )

Harry Parish ( my actual name is Howard but I was always called Harry )
