2 PSCO Wing Team I think.

Front - Johnny Goodall, ?, ?, Pud Spalding, ?

Sorry but my memory is not so good now
1955 March
My favourite pic. That`s me in white scoring a goal. When I used to play for Irthlingborough Diamonds in the late 40`s when it was just an under 17 youth team, my Aunt Grace gave me a tanner, (sixpence in old money) whenever I scored so I mailed her this pic. Lo and behold, a month later I received back the postal order shown below. I have treasured this all my life and never cashed it in !
Same match
Same match. Taff Ellis I think clearing.
I rather think that this is 2 PSCO at Kabrit at the bottom end of the Great Bitter Lake. Looks like a penalty being saved against us. That day we pinched the fire alarm tubes and hammers to supplement our rattles.
An assortment of pics from what looks like a 2 PSCO Wing match. Kasfareet village seen in the background. The goalie was certainly very busy in this game !
Oops - this was a goal.
No 2 PSCO Wing Team

Referee Jim Forbes

Gerry Hancock 3rd from left next to goalie Peter Hanks.
I am second from left in front row.
Kasfareet boasted a 12 hole golf course but only with sand and gravel surface. Tees were wood platforms !   Walter Hilsden tells me that he was a founder member of the golf course having helped build it (with the aid of the East African Pioneer Corps) Walter believes that he has the same picture and thinks that it is him playing the shot.
My Kasfareet cricket medal
NEW PICTURES-This steeplechase event was held on Kasfareet but I do not remember if it was a stand alone event or comprised part of the other athletics occasion pictured further down this page.
NEW PICTURE-Handover in the mens relay race. On the right, lady runners wait their turn.
NEW PICTURE-This cannot be the finish, there are no judges on the line !
NEW PICTURE- Changeover in the ladies team relay.
NEW PICTURE- I can only guess that this was the Officers race with most in half uniform !
NEW PICTURE-View of the number one football pitch with spectator staging down one side only. This is viewed looking in to the camp. Beyond the football pitch is the rugby pitch with posts erected and which was surrounded by the athletics running track. Further back is the sergeants mess and water tower. On the left in the far distance is the camp cinema.
NEW PICTURE-This shot is directed further to the left so pointing more toward the Kasfareet Village bridge. In the right foreground is the number one football pitch with another football pitch alongside with a game going on. Beond that is a shortened pitch which I take to be the hockey pitch. In the far distance left is what appears to be a cricket sightscreen and this is where I think the cricket pitch was located but I cannot see another screen. I will have to look again at the negative because there is a suspicion of people in white in that area.
